Rope Weave Outdoor Chair with Aluminum Frame and Cushion

Rope Weave Outdoor Chair: Materials and Construction

A rope weave outdoor chair on an aluminum frame. The back and arms are woven from 6 mm rope, and the seat carries a 40 mm cushion over an aluminum seat platform. Legs, arms, back support and seat platform are all aluminum, so the chair stays light to move between settings and there is no webbing to sag or replace. The open rope weave keeps the back ventilated, and the 40 mm cushion adds comfort for longer seating. Available in a range of finishes, with custom matching on request, for terraces, patios, hotel courtyards and cafe seating.

Aluminum Leisure Chair: Two Configurations

The aluminum leisure chair comes in two configurations. One has a bare aluminum seat platform; the other adds a 40 mm seat cushion. Both share the same aluminum frame and the same rope-woven back and arms, so a terrace can mix the two without breaking the design line. Choose the uncushioned version where seats are wiped down between guests, and the cushioned version where diners stay longer. Both are built for terraces, patios, hotel courtyards and cafe seating, and both are available in a range of finishes. The rope is woven at 6 mm across the back and arms.

CDG Rope Finishes

The chair's woven back panel is formed from the CDG rope range, shown as a sample set of solid tones and speckled patterns spanning natural, neutral and accent families. Because the rope is the chair's visual signature, its finish drives how the piece reads: a solid rope keeps the back graphic and minimal, while a speckled rope adds texture and is more forgiving of everyday marks. Rope finishes can be matched across chairs, tables and frames in one project, with custom matching available.

Rope Construction: Three-Layer Performance

The rope is built in three layers. A spandex polyester core gives it a flexible, high-rebound structure. Around it sits an intermediate layer of UV-resistant outdoor plastic, soft and high tenacity with strong rebound, compacted with the outer yarn so the rope stays waterproof outdoors. The outer layer uses high-strength yarn with a neutral extension structure, which raises weaving yield by 30-40% and is engineered to stop braided seating from sinking. For outdoor projects this means a woven back that holds its shape and rinses clean. Every rope in the CDG range is built this way.
